Content Testing Definitions

Intellikey Signature TestingTM includes many conventional testing solutions that are scaled to the unique size requirements of the project. This testing can be done on any range of platforms and content delivery methods.

Compatibility
This testing protocol locates player manufacturer inconsistencies with intended disc performance when related to authoring methods. Depending upon assigned protocol, technicians can verify that disc menus and video titles load and initialize properly, that firmware settings interact with the disc without error and notate performance inconsistencies between player models and manufacturers.

Functionality
This testing protocol discovers authoring and design inconsistencies. Technicians perform a navigation test on disc menus and access each disc menu button, check for spelling errors throughout the disc menus and ensure that disc menu highlights, disc menu backgrounds and menu graphics all appear as intended by the author.

Linear Playback
This test consists of a technician viewing the movie title and all supplemental video titles with a combination of audio and subtitle streams selected by the client. Linear Playback tests are designed to discover video, audio, subtitle and foreign language errors and anomalies.

Usability
This testing will generate a report with observations regarding overall product functionality and include recommendations based on industry standards and user friendliness. The project could involve website, disc or hardware usability testing. In order to provide the recommendations, Intellikey will perform a customized human interface testing protocol that may also identify errors and anomalies which will be reflected in Intellikey Signature ReportingTM. This reporting includes an executive summary analysis.

NTSC 1 Intellikey AMPTM Compatibility Testing
--- Intellikey’s proprietary AMPTM (Affected Market Percentage) is offered with all NTSC 1 testing reports. Exacting and reliable market research is used to ensure that Intellikey has the most comprehensive manufacturer samples of DVD players available for AMPTM reporting. The AMPTM is determined from a base of 100 of the top players sold in the domestic marketplace for DVD compatibility testing. Each issue is assigned an AMPTM percentage that reflects the specific market percentage of DVD players affected by that particular issue. This figure allows clients to know just how potentially serious their issue could be, and the portion of the market it could affect.
